If you install gas or oil boilers you will need this qualification to comply with Building Regulations Part L. On successful completion of this training & assessment course you will deemed a 'Competent Person' and able to self-certify your boiler installations. This qualification is recognised by both CORGI and The Energy Savings Trust.

We now have available a Solar Thermal Hot Water course designed to give installers the necessary qualification needed to apply for provisional accredited installer status under the Low Carbon Building Programme (formally known as the Clear Skies scheme) for more information see http://www.lowcarbonbuildings.org.uk Under this scheme householders can take advantage of the funding available, currently £400, provided they use an installer recognised under the scheme. Designed to give experienced heating and plumbing engineers the skills required to install and commission indirect SDWH circuits, where these circuits are integrated with conventional domestic heating and hot water systems.

This 2 day training and assessment course designed by Logic Certification is one of only two schemes in the country that gives installers the necessary accreditation for involvement in Low Carbon Building Programme projects; micro-generation projects that have received government funding as part of its initiative to promote the take-up of renewable energy.

The course encompasses the following topics:

Regulations and Standards
Collector Types
Solar Heated Storage Types (storage cylinders)

Our Part P course are specifically designed to comply with the CORGI Electrical Defined Scope (Approved For The Self Certification Scheme)Building Regulations now require that for the first time, electrical work carried out in `Dwellings' must be notified to your local Building Control Officer. The notification must be made before work starts, unless it is to be carried out by a `Competent Person', who is on an Approved Register and therefore capable of `self certifying' their own work.

Although Building Control Officers undertake a visual check of the installed cables etc, a 'Competent Person' will be required to undertake the final Inspection, test and verification.

Undertaking this training and assessment course eliminates the requirement to inform your local Building Control Officer to have your work approved before you start. You will be recognised as a competent person and therefore able to self-certify your own work and notify Building Control, once you have registered with an appropriate body.

Compliance with Building Regulations
Replacement of electrical components
New wiring connected to existing individual power circuits (not a new circuit)
Installation of a new single point circuit from the consumer unit
Installation of central heating system wiring & components
Power wiring level C
Power wiring level B
Lighting Circuits Level B & C

We also offer a 'top up' to Part P Level A for electricians and those needing to comply with the requirements of Part P and Building Regulations.

A 1 day course to give installers a basic appreciation of electrical installations allied to their usual type of work.

Fault-finding techniques for professional CORGI registered gas installers. This course is particularly useful for installers with a good knowledge of installing boilers but have never had a need to be able to service or repair them.

We take you step by step through the theory behind repairing boilers and understanding wiring diagrams, to plenty of hands-on experience with live firing boilers.
